Teresa Martin-Retortillo transforms executive education as head of IE Exponential Learning at IE University

In an era of globalization and uncertainty, leaders, senior executives and professionals at every stage of their career need to adapt to an unprecedented pace of change and volatility, while expectations to deliver results continue to increase. In an attempt to better equip executives for success, IE Business School is pleased to announce the appointment of Teresa Martín-Retortillo as Executive President of IE Lifelong Learning.

With a strong international profile and decades of experience in driving corporate growth, innovation and learning in both North America and Europe, Martín-Retortillo is well-placed to lead a renewal of IE’s executive education programs. Since joining IE in September, Martín-Retortillo has led a fundamental redesign of its executive education programs.

“Teresa is committed to reshaping the way we think, not only about executive education, but also about learning itself,” says IE University Executive President Santiago Íñiguez. “With her exceptional strategic vision for the future of education and the business sector, IE Exponential Learning is set to transform how we see corporate education.”

In March, an exciting and innovative new curriculum will be launched that will support individuals as they address the challenges of digital transformation and accelerated growth with “high tech / high touch” learning experiences.

“While technology is a great enabler to make learning more effective, as an adult learner, it all starts with developing a learning mindset, and we make sure to also help executives with this critical dimension,” notes Teresa Martín-Retortillo. “IE was one of the first institutions in the world to incorporate blended learning, and it has been a pioneer in innovative teaching methods. Building on this unique expertise and taking advantage of recent technological innovations, we have designed programs that cater to professionals throughout their lives, empowering them to become adaptable and self-motivated life-long learners.”
